Got out yesterday afternoon and fished with a couple of friends from Oklahoma- John and Brent. 2 units running all day, which isn't what the SPA schedule said for either Saturday or Sunday... they lied again.

We drifted from Lookout to Fall Creek several times using Babler's pink micro/scud combo 9 feet deep and did ok. John tied on a pink marabou 1/50th oz jig and started catching way more trout than we were catching. I didn't have a jig like that so I messed around with some other combinations. Ended up tying on a 3/32nd sculpin jig and caught some real nice rainbows. We fished from about 2-5 pm. Pulled out and headed to Bull Shoals...

I had similar results this week. I fished a couple hours Wednesday after I arrived. Used an olive Micro under a float. Caught about 6 fish, but only one slightly over 15"

Thursday I switched to a sculpin/ginger 3/32 oz PJ's jig. I only caught 7, but only one was under 14, one just under 18, and most 16-17. I didn't fish Friday, but heard it was quite good. Saturday was tougher for numbers, with only 3 to the boat, a couple lost. Good size though 2 of the three were 15-17 inches. It seemed like they shut down after the sun came out. Maybe because it brought a lot of boats out with it. I did catch this 20 1/2 just as the sky was clearing.

I also made one trip up to the dam. Hooked up on something that felt big on the first cast. Two long, strong runs and it broke off.

All the others were caught between the tennis courts and the "pink" house, and in the narrows. The biggest one just below the tennis courts. Drifting, and dragging the jig on the bottom with slight, short hops.

Real men go propless!

Nice to know that color combo is still doing good. Fished a sculpin/blond(Could have been ginger) from Lilley's back in March. I'm by no means an expert. 1/8 oz but definitely caught some nice rainbows. Hope the pattern sticks for a few more weeks, we're making a quick stop down on May 7th to fish the morning, so hopefully the bite is still good!
