mic Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I have a family reunion in Branson this weekend. I'm going make it out on one or two mornings. I will be wading and probably drifting, swinging wet flies. Any recommendations for where a first timer should go and what to look for?
johndarin Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 First you should see how many generators are running before you go. If the water is off then you need to go up top between outlet one and two, there is a little channel starting about even with the top of the island in the middle, a lot of fish hang out there. You will need at least 6x flourocarbon tippit, you might be able to get away with 5x, if the water is off. If the water is on you really need to be in a boat and drift san juans, scuds, and jigs. If you need to rent a boat Lilleys' Landing has some to rent. If you want to check out a report, I poseted one on here and there are some on my website ozarkflies.com. mic Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Thanks to all for the advice. I wish I could report, but I never made it out in four days. When i could go the lighting was out. Didn't make it to Silver Dollar City either. I have two heavy discounted two day passes, one for an adult and one for a child.
