Members flyfisherman Posted April 25, 2011 Members Posted April 25, 2011 brian When I was down there with my daughter a few weeks ago, you said the river could use a good flood to clean it out, well it looks like it happened. I guess it is mother natures form of spring cleaning, lets hope the rain stops soon JK
Brian Sloss Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 I meant a flood about a third the size of what we got though. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Members flyfisherman Posted April 25, 2011 Members Posted April 25, 2011 I know, hope it recedes quickly as I am itching to get on the point, good freind of mine in KY got flooded for the first time, it is a wet spring for everyone JK
Members Betty and Patrick Posted April 26, 2011 Members Posted April 26, 2011 For anyone thinking of coming down, the river is blown out. Thomasville is brown and out of it's banks and Greer is to the top of the boat ramp, brown and logs floating by. I actually had someone try to talk me into putting them out in a canoe today. Are you kidding me? I'll post updates on levels when they look like they may be getting favorable again.
Members Betty and Patrick Posted April 26, 2011 Members Posted April 26, 2011 Hey Brian it's patrick and betty from Memphis. Just want to know how every one made it during the storms. If you show us pictures of your river we show you pictures of ours. we are expected to crest at 44 feet above. they dont call it mighty for nothing. If you get a chance or if you see them tell Ms. Sheila and Lane we miss them.
Brian Sloss Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 It is much higher than my first description. It is about 6 feet from the bottom of the Greer bridge. Don't have a picture now, but maybe tomorrow. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
