Members catfish307 Posted April 27, 2011 Members Posted April 27, 2011 I just hope no one gets hurt and property loss is at a minimum. Though it's the last thing anyone is thinking about right now, how will this affect the boating/fishing this summer?
Brian K. Shaffer Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 As of 3am CST, Table Rock is 934.6 and Taneycomo is 727.3 Beaver is 1130.4 and the tailwater is 953.0 Monumental flows for both dams. This will take some time to recover from. Brian EDIT -- as of 7am - TR = 935.0, Taney 727.5 Beaver - 1130.0, 953.0 Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Leonard Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 This is what I heard this morning on KHOZ 102.9 radio The Corp of engineers has reported the flood gates has been raised to a record high of 4 feet CFS is holding at 68,000 http://www.taneycomonights.com
kelly Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 The Corp of engineers has reported the flood gates has been raised to a record high of 4 feet CFS is holding at 68,000 Leonard will that great of a flow push out a bigger pool below the dam and wash away that rock pile above the cable on the bluff side? I would think since this is a record event we should see a Taneycomo like we have never seen before, when it is finally over.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Here is the latest up to date info on the river levels as of 7:19pm Wednesday evening: Table Rock is running 4 units, tailwater level is 934.4 / lake level is 727.7 Beaver running is 2 units, tailwater level is 1129.4 / lake level is 937.8 The increased opening of the gates is drawing the lake down.. but the lake is really being given a lot of water from all angles. Brian EDIT 5:39am Thursday morning- TR = 935.2, 727.6 B = 1129.4, 937.7 Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.

Members Lucky Fly Posted April 28, 2011 Members Posted April 28, 2011 Beaver is just under flood pool at 1129.4 (1130 is flood pool). Hopefully, with Beaver crested and inflow from tribs matching outflows from the dam, they have beaver under control and should be able to shut the flood gates today. This will begin to help table rock with inflows. Thoughts and prayers to those individuals effected by the floods. steve "Trout Don't Live In Ugly Places"
Leonard Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 What was Taneycomo's crest in the 2008 mess? I wasn't here then. I think it was like 933... If I remember right http://www.taneycomonights.com
Members Tangled Bill Posted April 28, 2011 Members Posted April 28, 2011 Thanks, Leonard, but I meant Taneycomo, not TR.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I doubt there are any figures on Taney. It isn't a flood control lake and has no flood pool and no flood gates. Even the power pool can only be controlled by TR, which wasn't always the case. It is generally a foot less than the TR tail water at the Powersite dam. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
