troutfiend1985 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I just boght a cree saddle hackle from whiting. I was wondering if anyone knew of the uses for these feathers. I've always wanted one, never had an opportunity and today I had the chance to get one for 55 dollars and couldn't pass it up. Any suggestions would be appreciated. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
flytyer57 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 They ain't good for anything. I'll give you $25 + postage to take it off your hands. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Gavin Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 $55 and good cree....just doesnt make much sense...I'd suggest that you sell it to Steven Tyler on eBay as fast as possible and make do with the feather you have..

I ain't lying. . . I know that its good for something. I'm like a kid right now, its from a reputable source, and no I'm not going to sell this one on ebay. It's kind of funny how I got it. I orginally ordered dark barred ginger, and I get an email back from a nice lady who said and I quote "I'm sorry, we're out of dark barred ginger. Is there any way that you would accept cree as a substitute." I started laughing in the middle of class. But seriously, is there any use for creek outside of tying an Adams variant. If you guys want, pm me and I'll tell you what store it was, she sounded like she had a few extra capes. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
Gavin Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Not saying your lying...just amazed at the price. Thats the deal of the century...Use it for whatever you like...Should make some sweet looking catskill & parachute style dry flies...or use it for whatever else you like..wooly buggers, cracklebacks...anything else you wrap hackle on. Cheers.
