jdavis Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Has anyone been fishing at night lately? I have been a couple of times in the last few weeks and have had little success. Wondering if I'm missing something, picking bad nights or if conditions just aren't right.
Troutn Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I have only been able to go a handful of times in the last couple of weeks. It has definitely slowed down for me that last few trips. I know that the other night when I went they had just stopped generating and generaly is slower after generation. I don't know what the deal is here lately. I just keep telling myself fall is just around the corner, and when the fall gets here, the big browns are not far behind. Nathan
Brian K. Shaffer Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 I've been slaying the trout downtown ... all on surface flies. Day or night.. it deosnt matter, as long as the water is up. (I never ever thought I would type that last line.) 25+ plus fish .. all on dries, for 5 days straight now! Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
duckydoty Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 I just got back tonight from below the dam. I didn't do very well, but there was a guy right at the stairs below #2 with a lighted indicator doing real well. Water was way up when I got there at 7:30 and dropped to the bottom of the step when I left at 10:00. I have not done well the last 2 times that I have gone in the evening. Brian, Is downtown the landing? Are there public docks to fish from down there and do many people fly fish in that area? The wife does not like to fly fish very often and might get into sitting on a dock fishing with jigs under a bobber or something like that while I flyfish. Fish Bork Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Just got back from downtown and wish I would of had my flyrod with me. Bugs were crazy on the top. Just using power worms and powerbait and only caught one. Tried a small rap on the surface but that wasn't working. Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
