Members Kyle C Posted May 6, 2011 Members Posted May 6, 2011 My grandpa and I went fishing for crappie this past Wednesday. We caught 7 walleye (6 keepers) and 5 crappie on Maze creek. Walleye and crappie were caught in around 15 feet of water, I'm not sure of the water temperature. Also caught one largemouth and one drum (that I hoped was a big walleye). All fish were caught on gray crappie jigs or white road runners. Walleye were caught of a rocky steep bank. Two of the crappie were females that had not spawned.
straw hat Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Great report Kyle C. Man!! I feel lucky if I catch 1 keeper walleye on a trip. That information will help us know where to start fishing next time we go. Thanks.
Members Kyle C Posted May 6, 2011 Author Members Posted May 6, 2011 We got lucky. The most walleye we had caught in a trip before was three. We caught 6 of the 7 at the same place within about 10 feet of each other and within 1 hour. They were biting fast.
Members stateguyrandy Posted May 7, 2011 Members Posted May 7, 2011 They are biting over by mutton creek, anywhere from 15 feet to 50 ft we've been out three times and caught two limits, The channel cats are soon going to spawn, we caught a nice one today and it was full of eggs .
