Members SgtChuck64 Posted May 9, 2011 Members Posted May 9, 2011 Hi Greg, How are you ? Thanks for the info. I will be on Norfork in July this year. For those of you that are looking for a place to stay, Greg is one of the nicest and most accomodating resort owners on the lake. He is also closest to the hottest fishing spots on the lake.
Members Dave289us Posted May 13, 2011 Author Members Posted May 13, 2011 Hi Guys, We made up our mind we are going to give it a whirl. Coming down to fish lake Norfork for Stripers and bass. Heading over a couple days to fish the White below Bull Shoals , sounds like high water but we will rent a boat and drift for some bigger fish using plugs and shiners. We have a 20 ft Tracker set up for trolling, does anyone have any pointers for trolling for stripers on Norfork. We are going to try to fish up by the dam to hopefully get clearer water. Is there any top water action for Stripers? Any ideas on places to stay, hopefully a owner who fishes. If you want to send me PM or email davegrass@earthlink.net that would be cool. Thanks in advance, I 'll bring the computer and keep you guys informed on how we are doing. Dave
Members SgtChuck64 Posted May 13, 2011 Members Posted May 13, 2011 Dave, we switched lakes and will be staying at hand cove resort on Norfork from the 14th-21st. All the resort owners are dialed into the fish through the locals or the guides. We usually get into the stripers on topwaters early in the morning and at dusk. Trolling live shad is the best way to catch em, but you gotta have a cast net and a shad tank to keep em alive, thats why a good guide is so valuable.I'll be in a black Lund Mr. Pike with a white 115 Johnson.I'll post reports here or I'll e mail you. Hand Cove is the closest resort to where the fish are biting now, but there is also lodging available from Jordan Marina and Mockingbird bay resort. I have stayed at many resorts on Norfork and there is only one I would steer you away from, but hes way up the lake anyway. Good luck !
Members Dave289us Posted May 17, 2011 Author Members Posted May 17, 2011 Wow, The water is high. Fishing in Diamond creek today and tonight. Marked some fish but no stripers. Staying at fish and fiddle. Not sure where to try next . Some word was way up the creek arms. Ideas
gotmuddy Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 The cystic fibrosis tourny took a little over 14lb to win. The bass cat tourny is back on, it is being put on by the chamber of commerce. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members Dave289us Posted May 17, 2011 Author Members Posted May 17, 2011 Hey Sarge, My email is davegrass@earthlink.net.
