Walleyedmike Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 The wife and I fished Stockton Saturday May 7th. Beautiful day on the lake. Put in at the old State Park Marina (Hartley?). Headed out on the lake at about 12:30. Hit a main lake point and immediately started hitting walleye trolling Bottom Bouncers with slow death rigs, all shorts though. Moved into a secondary point in 15 feet of water, pea gravel bottom, 62 degree water, along submerged brush. Started hammering walleye on slow death rigs (and night crawlers). We got two limits of walleye by 4:30 PM. 15-19 inch fish. Caught around 20 walleye in all, not a single bass or crappie. Headed back to the camper and had a nice supper consisting of fried walleye, morel mushrooms, grilled asparagus, and jacket fries. Worked on and around the camper Sunday so we didn't fish.I believe Kwall was at the campground, but didn't get a chance to introduce myself. Hopefully he had some luck as well. Will be back over Memorial Day Weekend...cant wait! WM
Hunter91 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Glad you got into em!! Gonna give it a try this Friday.
rangerman Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Good report...WM, I'll be fishin' Stockton here in a couple of weeks.. hopefully the pattern holds.
Walleyedmike Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 You'll catch fish on Stockton, Rangerman. Probably not the lunkers you are accustomed to on Bull, lots of nice eaters though. I pretty much use only slow death rigs and always have pretty successful outings. Too bad your not coming down over Memorial Day weekend would be great to finally meet. WM
minnowhooker Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 WalleyedMike there still biting I caught a limit today, nothing big. The places I fished last week were occupied so I found some on steep sloping banks between 16' to 20' deep.
rangerman Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Mike I may be down that weekend as well. I'll definitely be in touch with you before then. Keep on catchin 'em.

Walleyedmike Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Kwall, I'm in the second camper to the north of you. Mine faces north and south as opposed to east and west like all the others in the row. C'mon man, we need more info from ya! A limit is nice, but how'd ya catch 'em. Jigs, harnesses, rigs? I wanna know how kwall does it! Nice work hooker! You caught 'em in a little bit different kinda spot than I did. That's good to know. They must be everywhere! RM, if you are you are gonna come to Stockton over Memorial Day, you better make some reservations pretty soon. I look for it to be real busy with the flooding at some of the other Ozark area lakes! WM
kwall Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 WM , got the Eyes on a bluff. Used a swim jig tipped with a third of a crawler while drifting down the edge of it keeping the front of the boat in 14' to 16' and the back of the boat in 24' to 26'. The wind made it hard to get lined up , but when we did -- fish on!! We caught 20 or so short fish also on minnows drifting same bluff . The crappie came from the Maze creek area in 20' of water on minnows on the bottom with just hook and sinker , first time I ever fished either place, nice to find a new spot to fish, you can't have to many
