ollie Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Decided to get out after being couped up for several weeks. Just wanted to get out even though I thought to myself I wouldn't have a chance at catching fish today, but you know what? I ended up catching 8 trout altogether and I met up with Buzz who caught his share as well. That is all. Not getting specific. Just wanted those to know that you can still catch fish in this creek if you know where to go! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Buzz Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Sorry I missed the post Ollie. It was a pretty good couple of hours. The fish fought hard which made it worth the hunt. They are spread out, but they are there. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Members Switchfly Posted May 18, 2011 Members Posted May 18, 2011 i never seem to bump into any of you guys when i am down there. I fished monday and caught 2 in an hour or so. i covered a lot of water starting down by the ball fields and working my way up. water was low and gin clear. Had a big fella decide he liked my strike indicator, which honestly spooked me I caught both my fish at the helicopter. there was a scout troop down there doing something for a bicycle merit badge or some such.
Buzz Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Switchfly, that was the first time I'd been to Hickory since mid March. I drive a tan '98 Ford pickup. Come hunt me down if you see it parked along the creek. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
