Guest Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 We got on the water at 5:45am fished until 2pm. Caught 40-50 redears and bluegills on crickets, mostly early in the morning. They turned off about 9:30, so we decided to ice them down and bass fish. We caught 10-12 bass under the slot and a 5pounder swimming a jig. We mixed fishing spawningand post spawn banks once the wind picked up and it got hot outside. I managed to lose a monster right off the bat this morning. chucking a crankbait, I turned the handle a couple times when it clocked the bait. Never had a chance, fought it briefly until it pulled loose. The water was brown but clearing on top.
Quillback Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Excellent, sounds like you're gonna have a fish fry! Just curious how many boats were on the lake?
Guest Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 There were only 5 boats but they went home at noon. It was very peaceful for a holiday.
