Hey guys, I get to fish Stockton this Wednesday & Thursday and am in the mood to try catching (I mean eating) some spawning channel cats off the rocks... I was wondering if anyone has had any luck lately. I saw a couple of weeks ago it was pretty slow and some folks have caught a random cat while crappie fishing but I could sure use a little help if you would share some "generic" info... In the past I have had luck around High Point fishing minnows under a bobber in about 5 - 10 feet off the rocky banks. Just wondering if a similar pattern is still possible or what else to try... I'm thinking it's a little late but with the cold and high water I wonder if they are running late. C'mon catmen, help a brother out! Thanks, Bill

Is this fun or what!

Bill, for three weeks now I have been pounding the rock riprap. No more than 1 cat (if that many) per trip. All teh other catmen I have talked to are having the same type of luck. Those cats that have been caught are nearly all 2 or 3 lb males. As you know the males come up first. They have GOT to be close now with the water running around 70 to 72 degrees. I am going to try again in the next two or 3 days and will post. Get your hooks sharpened it will be real soon!!
