Guest Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 has finally dropped out and the current has slowed, things are getting back to normal again, but its changed since the last flood. Gravel has moved around, but the channel seems to be staying the course. Wade fished a 1 mile stecth after work today. Caught em pretty easy on anything crawdad; shaky head, bitsy tube, and live crawdad. All the smallies were GOLD. Brilliant gold. Now, those pesky mayflies are all over the dam place, screwin up my crawfish bite sure wished I had a tiny pop-r handy today just toss it in there real nice and let it sit until the rings go away.
Guest Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I got the privelege to fish with an OAF member yesterday. Hoglaw and I set out in the afternoon heat in search of brown bass. We did alright given what little time we had and there are still some spawning going down. He caught some pretty nice smallies and I caught a fat little largemouth. Not bad for a short stretch of creek. Its changed even after the flood, gravel is still moving around. My favorite spot is cutoff from the mainriver with no current, so its a big leech hole now. Maybe Hogs will catch that infamous donkey carp next trip.
