I've seen people that can throw 90' of line and can't cast to a fish worth a crap. Don't confuse being a good fly caster with a good fly fisherman. I am neither of course but I can tell the difference.

Just like most college professors in the University's, they can teach but they can't all put it to use in the real world. Charlie will flat tell you that he don't fish bennett anymore. He has never given me a clear answer why that is, but that is what he says. I have never seen Jim Rogers on the stream as many years and days that I have been there either except for with a paying customer being taught. So getting them together to fish in a comp is highly unlikely, but it sure would be fun to watch for a bit.

Well that was interesting. From what I got. Weavers has the best website to get info, Charlies is an overall but have to deal with him, Larry's is the friendly and more family area, the park store if you need something quick. Plus now I think the store owners should have a competition among them to see who is the best fly fisherman. So far not to many other websites are that good for what is needed. OK now let the fishing competition began. Do you think the owners will go for it?

Just to clarify I think Weavers is the ONLY website with a report about Bennett that I am aware of, unless you consider this forum a viable resource for a legitimate report. Sometimes it is if you can shuffle through the BS.

The best fishing report for Bennett is to go and observe. The majority of people C & R fishing are doing the same thing that they normally do and unless the water changes the fish don't really change. New flies and methods evolve slowly at Bennett so it's unlikely anyone will be caught short.

The one thing that overrides everything is the condition of the stream, whether it is high, murky or they're cutting weeds is probably the only thing that changes the fish habits.

Remember, most of the fish in the stream don't have as much time there as you do.

I use the park store the most for convenience. But I like Larry's the best by far.

Another website, especially from a business that tends to cater to more fly fishermen will be a big help to many I'm sure.
