vacation Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 It was my first trip to Crane Creek Sunday. My wife and I went over to the James River to fish and cool off, but the water was just a tad high for wading, so we headed to Crane. We waded the downtown portion and what an awesome little fishery that was. It was cool and shaded and I managed a 20" bow and 2 16" bows. Only there for a couple hours, but what an absolute gem of a creek. I have fished this area for two decades and am still amazed at the wonders of the Ozarks.
mic Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 So jealous...thanks for the report. Will you tell us what fly you were using?
Andrew324 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I have started to wet wade now at Crane because of the heat. The fishing was superb last week right when the fog started rolling in on the water in the evening. Nice report, that park section holds good fish. Got any pics? vacation Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 pic on my cell was crappy b/c camera lense fogged over from the cool water vs the humid air. Shad colored sculpins were the key for me.
