back2roots Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Hi Everyone, Been a LONG time since I got to fish Taney...BUT got out yesterday morning in one of Phils' boats with a good friend of mine. We caught nice average sized bows all morning long on white jigs, purple jigs, scud colored jigs and of course power bait eggs. All had LOTS of fight and great color. Our original plan was to motor over as much of the lake as we could on a half day rental, but we were having so much fun drifting from the mouth of Fall creek to just up from Phil's place we never made it anywhere else. Thank you Curtis for the heads-up on where to look for the "new" hazards in the water!!!! A VERY nice day indeed!!!! Bill If you liked the sound....Thank the engineer!
Seth Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 My parents were down there Thursday-Sunday and knocked the snot out of the fish as well on powerbait up around Short Creek. I sure did miss not being able to make it down there this June. First time I've not gone since I was a little guy. Hopefully we'll get time to make a weekend trip in August at least.
OzarkFishman Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 When you all drift with jigs, do you use an indicator or bottom bounce? I know most probably use both techniques, but I was wondering which one produces more consistently. My guess would be bottom bouncing, but I have been wrong many times. Thanks, OzarkFishman
back2roots Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 I started out under an indicator and did so-so. Switched to bouncing and did better. Most folks we saw were bottom jigging as well. If you liked the sound....Thank the engineer!
