vonreed Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 i know you guys don't believe me but thats ok. I will take a picture when i land the fish. i was out of work when i lived in forsyth i use to go to the creek every day . This is what i saw then and what i saw in the creek the other day http://fish.dnr.cornell.edu/nyfish/Percidae/sauger.html. If i had a cast net i would land one i saw them up close 2-3 feet from me pointy mouth and all Hey, I was just curious if you was ever able to catch any of the walleye that you were seeing. I hope you're right, because that would be great. It'd give me an excuse to come down there. Was the fish all the way up river where to lake backs up to? I'm curious still.
rps Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Both walleye and sauger were "native" to the White and it tributaries before the dams were built. I caught a 3+ pound sauger from Table Rock last year. Known as jack salmon in the old days, these fish have survived in the rivers by not being easily caught during the day, When you catch one, post the picture for us, please.
