mic Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Well due to the weather I wasn't able to leave early enough from Illinois to make it to Spring Creek, but was able to make it to BSC. I had an average day, bringing in plenty of fish to hand. I brought in a bunch of BSC specials (4 to 6 inches), but had some 8 to 10 inch fish mixed in here or there. The creek has settled out from all the rain, and I have lost a couple of my favorite holes. One was lost to a large tree (but good for the fish) and one filled in with rock. I wet waded yesterday, and the water wasn't that cold. So...this is the last trip for me until the fall. It is time for me to learn how to fish some bigger water anyway so I'll take the summer and learn the Meramec below the park. I need the practice for my trip to Yellowstone in August. Matt, if you catch this, it was nice meeting you, and I did end up pulling out an 8" out of that hole. I'll have to tie up some of your flies. Thanks for sharing. See you all here in the fall. MIC
flyfishmaster Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 way to go MIC, I had to seetle for 2 hours of fishing at a local pond on Sunday night. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
Members mjcoussens Posted June 23, 2011 Members Posted June 23, 2011 Glad to hear that worked out for you in that spot. It was nice to meeting you on stream as I've always enjoyed your trip reports. Matt
ozark trout fisher Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Thanks for the report. Sounds like a good day. I'm troubled to hear about the warm water temps though.
