hi guys, i'm new to the area and was looking for some advice about fishing eleven point, i do not own a boat so river access is a bit awkward, could anyone help in regards to fishing from the bank, i have fished at greer a couple of times, i feel i am missing out on a lot more fish without a boat but funds are tight right now so if there is anyone who can point me in the right direction i would be one happy angler, also on fish stocks, are there any european carp in eleven point, many thanks and tight lines to everyone :D

Turner Mill, Whitten, Riverton to name a few. Turner mill and Whitten are off AA highway and riverton is on hwy 160. Off the gravel road to the Whitten access is the Bliss walk in access about a mile down the road to the left, right before you get to Whitten. You could also go to Boze Mill Spring to hit the river there.

By the way, the places I listed are mainly trout accesses with a chance at smallmouth, But Thomasville has great trout on hwy 99 and Cane Bluff has good smallmouth water as well off hwy 19 between Alton and Greer. Hwy 142 has good smallmouth as well. Getting a canoe, kayak or other boat will get you to a lot of the best water though.

I hesitate too point this out because Brian Sloss by all I've heard probably knows more about the Eleven Point than anyone else on here, but just for the sake of saving the original poster some confusion, I believe this was a typo..I think you meant to say great smallmouth, right? I could be wrong though.

There is some good wading water right around the Highway 19 Bridge. Have you been fishing right at the boat put in, or closer to the bridge? Wading is pretty restricted (almost non-existent) at the recreation area put in, but it is much better below the bridge with some shallower water that is pretty manageable to wade at medium to low flows.

only been to greer a couple of times, tried just below the boat access with not much to show and up by the bridge, had 2 trout on a spinner the other day, both below keeper size, wasn't sure if there was bank access above the 19 bridge though so did not try to go upstream but it does look very good there.

i have tried below the boat put in without much luck, had a couple of trout on spinner fishing under 19 bridge but it looked a bit fast for wading, do you know how far you can walk below the boat put in on the bank, looking on google earth i think i will have to invest in a boat.

You can fish from the bank in several areas below the put in in the recreation area. But it's very limited.

Maybe not a these flows but at normal summer water levels you can wade below the bridge. It's fast and it can be an adventure, but it's doable.

Stop by the canoe rental sometime (hwy 19 an 160) and I'll get you some maps and go over the best areas with you.
