My son and I went to Stockton around the two bridges and trolled crankbaits all morning. We only caught 5 white bass but they were excellent size about 15 inches. We were hoping to find some schooling but didn't see any all morning. They were about 18-20 ft deep in 30ft of water.

I have been looking for them off and on all summer and have never seen more than just a few at a time and only up for 10 seconds or so. I have not seen morning whites at all. I have mostly been in the Cedar Ridge area.

We've seen the same thing this summer. We chased them early last month all one morning and caught 8. Like you said they never stayed up for more than 10-20 seconds. Last year we caught them around Masters and they stayed up for nearly an hour at a time.

We caught some on the drop on the long campground point at Masters one night but they weren't surfacing. We just got tired of looking and started fishing.

We didn't catch a lot, maybe 10-12.

I haven't been back there in several weeks. It is too hot to be on the water right now.

Caught some whites schooling in the Mutton Creek area this evening. they were very scattered but we got on a couple of small schools and caught about 20 keepers on topwaters right at dark.

That is the first I have heard of any surfacing in a long time. I have been fishing off and on all summer at Stockton and haven't seen any.

I did hear of a few guys catching some whites while bass fishing in the river above Birch's Branch about a week ago. It should be about time for them to be on the windy banks.
