I stumbled across this last year. It's a great video that shows you how to modify a $1.00 walmart buzzbait. I have caught more fish using this modified $1.00 buzzbait than any other lure I have ever used! I highly recommend checking this video out. Best of luck!

pretty good video......also try drilling a few holes in the blades as well. One thing I would add to that video is to crimp down the rivet that holds on the blade. you can also tak a file and rough it up a bit. this adds a ton more squeak and noise to the bait.

Nice video, and good advice Dchance. I usually enlarge the holes in the blade through which the wire runs, and do just like you said with the rivet. A buzzbait with the perfect squeak is a thing of beauty!

You can also bend the wire the blade is on down so the blade hits the wire the hook is on. Makes a real loud click as the bait moves through the water.

All great improvements for sure but if the bait still has the narrow gap between the blade and hook point is it for naught?
