Jack Jones Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I love to go to Roaring River, and now that the summer is here the hours are later and later for fishing. My biggest problem is finding a place to eat after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday nights between there and Springfield. I could go fast food, but man I get so sick of that. I'd just love to find a place where a guy can sit down, HAVE A BEER, and eat a burger or something. Recommendations, anyone? I'd even drive 15 minutes or so out of the way to get to a place. Dutch Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Have you checked to see how late Bootleggers in Aurora stays open. That is the only place I can think of along that route unless you wanted to swing by Shell Knob and try the one across the bridge.
Jack Jones Posted June 30, 2011 Author Posted June 30, 2011 Yeah...I checked Bootleggers. I've been there before and liked them. They aren't open on Sundays. Thought about heading into Shell knob but don't know what's there. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Dutch Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I don't remember the name but it is just south of the bridge on the right hand side. If you go don't order the quail. They don't have a clue as to how to do it right but their stakes are pretty good.
Members MoJohn Posted July 1, 2011 Members Posted July 1, 2011 Not sure how late there open on Sun. the wife and myself usually are coming back to Springfield on Sat. evenings from RR. Our usual stop is in Monett at the Acambaro Mexican restuarant. Spelling and puntuation error provided free of charge
Steve Smith Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 The steak house in Shell Knob is called Steak Inn. 417-858-6814. Darn good steaks cook over an open pit. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
