What a difference a week makes. Put in at mutton at 7pm and caught two shorts right away and was thinking gonna be another glory night, boy was I wrong. Fished a lot of the same banks as last week when I caught 68. Fished till 2:30am ended up 14 all blacks and one smallie, only 4 keepers with no size, all came on single spin. Also had one drum. Left scatching my head. I just wonder if a lot of fish have moved out to the thermocline, and did not move up to feed, oh well, will try again next week.

Thank you very much for posting these night fishing reports. Very few people do seem to night fish at Stockton, as I very rarely have any competition for spots, but it makes it that much harder to have an idea what they are biting on when there is not nearly as much feedback as there is say on the Table Rock forum.

I am planning on going tomorrow night, and I hope they turn on a littel bit! I will probably start out on some main lake points and possibly work my way back in some creek arms at night if I don't find them out on the main lake. How deep did you have to fish that single spin to get bit?

I don't know if this applies or not Hammer time but research shows that black bass are more active the three days before and after a full moon and least active the three days before and after the dark of the moon. I also know that when they do the testing they make sure that the weather is consistant and comparible during the study periods or they don't the results. I know my own records reflect the same thing for crappie. During a full moon I usually have more trouble catching them during the day. I guess because they are more active at night. Just food for thought, obviously there is a lot of other factors that get involved such as wind, rain, ...

Fish where in 4 to 10 ft on main lake points, tried a 10" worm and jig no luck

TThanks for the feed back, I have found that I always seem to do better around the full moon and my last trip was right after the full moon

I hit the water this morning a little late, I think we were on the water at 7:30 or so, and was only able to manage 1 keeper. I was throwing a pigsticker jig about all day on a couple of buff ends, and main lake points around state park. That was my first trip to the lake, I am also new to the area but I fish Table Rock pretty often. The bites, and fish were coming in about 10 feet of water, I expected to catch fish in 25 foot but I couldn't buy a bite that deep. It got hot quick so I was off the water by 10:30, but overall was cool to get on a new lake.

I have to agree with you Hammertime. Camped and put in at Mutton Creek myself and the Worm Bite was non-existent. Jig bite was O.K. Caught our biggest fish on them. Probably did not catch over 50 Bass in 2 days. Most productive was at first light with 1 OZ. Rebel Poppers and Short, fat, shallow crankbaits in 5-7 feet of water. Schooling fish were the target. Only one fish over 3 pounds. Very few Keepers. I would have gone towards the dam and Birch Branch too but had too much boat trouble.
