Members Joe C Posted July 16, 2011 Members Posted July 16, 2011 I am considering purchasing a set of beathable waders with a zippered front. I broke my hip in a car accident a few years back and have a hard time raising my leg high enough to get my waders on easily. Then to try to tie my boots up. Its a pain in my....Hip. I was thinking the zippered front would help, but worry about the zipper leaking. Anyone have any experience goo or bad?

I was thinging the zippered front would help, but worry about the zipper leaking. Anyone have any experience goo or bad? I hear ya! Whoever invents the zippered waders that won't leak will be a millionaire! I once went wading/duck hunting at Grand Pass in waist deep water. We drug a small boat behind us to hold the decoys. We soon discovered that we all had to pee after drinking coffee all morning and had to hold the boat while we all climbed up one at a time take off waders enough to go pee. I guess the zippered waders would have made that process a little easier. Sorry, more of a comment than useful info! But I don't know of anyone with a pair that works. Brian Wise Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Hi Joe, I have been in zippered waders for 3 years....the zipper has not leaked at all. I absolutely love mine. Brian My Youtube Channel
Al Agnew Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 A friend of mine has been using a pair for about a year with no complaints. Of course, the zipper is an extra thing to possibly go wrong, but it seems they are fairly reliable.
JCWolfe Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 My Simms G4Z's I have don't leak and my son in laws Redington waders don't leak. Those are the only 2 brands I can comment on. I like that zipper when nature calls. No more taking off the vest and undoing everything. Unzip, unbuckle belt, take care of business. Okiemountaineer
Members yeehaw Posted July 18, 2011 Members Posted July 18, 2011 I've had hodgmans heavy neoprene duck hunting waders and their lightweight breathables both with zippers and both have worked flawlessly.
