Walleye In T Como?

Are there many Walleye caught in T Como? If so, do many people fish for them or are they accidents?? I have fished tenny alot lately and just moved here from the south and never caught many walleye ( we had sauger )

We are catching some walleye lately. Seems we do after a major water event like we had in May. Catch them mainly by accident.

I usually fish around cooper creek/ lilley's Any hints on how to catch them by accident..We are going there on friday...

Heres a little helpful information..

most of the walleyes are going to be upstream closer to the dam....

the old KAO about the farthest down I have heard one being caught (this year) .... some may have caught them from a boat down stream ..but I talk to a lot of the wading guys..

Although you are fishing for walleyes you HAVE to follow the fishing regulations for taneycomo..

No live bait/scented bait, and no soft plastics (like swimming minnows)in the C&R zone

but we have caught them on jigs, rapalas, rouges, cloes, rooster tails.

I was on a guide trip Friday night and we caught one on the fly rod using a PMS

we have caught a few during the day but that was by chance....

we really start to stack up the numbers in the evening/overnight and early morning before 8am...

the walleyes arent as thick as they were in 08.... but the year isnt over yet..

Ive got 14 so far this year (biggest this year is 27inches) .... in 08 I total 30 (11 of them were over 25inches)

Thank you for the information... I don't like taking my boat too far up ( not comfortable ) but I will advise on how well we do..Still beats a good day at work

I did see a 10 year old girl catch a 31" on a crawler down near the train bridge in May.. My ears are still ringing from the squeal she let out when she saw it! I dont think you can really even catch one on purpose in Taney.

Thanks, Back in ALabama, I was told I could catch a fish in a bath tub... But sometimes they were biting so good that I had to hide behind a tree to bait the hook... I just tasted walleye a few months ago when my fishing buddy caught one by " Accident " on the Rock... I said accident because it was the first time he went fishing...It always happens that way...
