Guys, I dont keep many bass anymore but a friend asked a question and I dont know for sure the answer.

If you catch a limit of a species, say 6 bass, can you continue fishing catch and release?

I think its legal, but got to wondering. Done it many times catching whites so thought id ask before doing it again.

Thanks

If it wasn't then they couldn't cull in tournaments...

Can't cull outside of sanctioned bass tournaments.

You can keep fishing anyplace BUT Trout Parks- you can not keep fishing after keeping a limit of trout.

You mis-understand.. I'm sure you're correct, I just think it (being allowed to cull during a tournament) is a load of horse manure... You should hafta follow state regs to a T..

The state regs state it is allowed in a sanctioned tournament.

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

Most tournaments have set their limit at 5 fish so you don't have to be concerned with violating state limit of 6 at anytime during the tournament.

Would'nt having a limit and then having one in your hand while unhooking it count as possesion? I mean the agent would have to be a bit carried away to see it that way,but......
