Brian Wise Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 The label peeled off so I am not sure the size but it is plastic coated (black) and I'm not even sure the manufacturer to be honest. The texture is what sold me, it isn't "slick." My Youtube Channel
Members Pflugradt Posted August 2, 2011 Members Posted August 2, 2011 I use the exact same stuff that Brian uses and that Jeremy recommended several years ago to me, it's called Beadlon. I use the 7 strand in .024, and .018 I have yet to have one come apart or break on me and I've put it through it's paces many a time. Steve Check out my warm water flytying and flyfishing how to.

It also comes in a wide range of colors I have black, silver, red, pink, green, and gold. Steve Check out my warm water flytying and flyfishing how to.

sean c Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I was using mono without beads until Brian put me on to the beadlon. The problem I was having with mono was after so many fish it would kink to the side or slip to the side rendering the fly useless(could just be operator error). I have half a dozen perfectly good circus peanuts that I can't use anymore because of the connection. If your going to put the time and money investment into tying articulated streamers you want them to ba as durable as possible. So far the beadlon with a bead or two has seemed to have solved my problem and a bonus is I think it is much easier to work with than mono.
