Do any of you fish for smallmouth on Capps? I have never been down there but I go to Monett often for work and would like to wet a line down there for a little bit between trains.

The best place to find smallmouth on Capps would be below the lower accsess down to where it enters Shoal Creek. I haven't been down for a few months, but with the heat they may be moving up into Capps for a chance at some cooler water.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

Yeah, they are in the lower portion, at least they used to be back in the late 80s early 90s. There used to be a nice hole where Capps and Shoal came together where you would catch largemouth, smallmouth and trout. Lots of fond memories of that creek.

I've caught a few, but not as many as one might think. I'm just saying they are in there, but not as many as you would think.

There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

It's west of the mill about 1/2 mile on Wallaby rd. You can't miss it. There's a big gravel parking lot on the west side of the road just before the bridge.

If you pass that bridge and go to the second bridge, walk upstream from that bridge and you will catch some.

True, but then your not on Capps, your on Shoal Creek. Still a good spot to fish. :secret-laugh:
