Hey guys just thought I would give you an update on our trip too tanneycomo. We had a good time and caught a some fish. I used some advice that some of you guys posted, thank you! All we caught we rainbows no browns but we had a blast. I did catch one that went a good 2 lbs and I did release it, the fish was only out of the water a minute. Swam off without any problems. So I know someone else will enjoy catching that one again. Thanks again and will be going back again real soon.

Well done, Cal....you have earned the right to do it again. Taneycomo is awesome. I hope to get there sometime before winter....and stay at Lilley's....our favorite place in MO.

Thank you! We stayed at trout hollow, that is a little further upstream from Lilly landing and a little difficult to get into a boat slip when the gates are open. I do have a question for you if you wouldn't mind. How often are the trout released?

Thanks for posting for I have been thinking of going down there as well. Never been down there and have never caught a trout over 4 inches long. figured my odds might be pretty fair down there.

I'm in N. Texas, and I only get to go to Taneycomo once or twice per year. I do not know what the release schedule is. Phil Lilley could tell you. I have found that any time I have been there, the fish are plentiful, and I have caught many....not necessarily dependent on a recent release. My goal is to catch that one that was released about 10 years ago....

They release about 2-3 times a week but the spot they stock differs every day. Most of the time it's in the Branson area but sometimes it's up by Cooper or down lower in the lake.

Question Lilley....Do trout tend to swim upstream when released, or do they hang out close to the relase area?

Thanks for the release info.
