He doesn't know for sure. How much harm has been done and how much more will occur before this thing is fixed? It is very hard to say now. What we do know is that one irresponsible developer has caused a lot of damage to the premier trout stream in Arkansas that will take years to repair.

I not only wrote the local Government but also wrote the Governor's office letting them know what I thought. I asked why they would take a chance of this happening? Why they didn't make the rules and reg's on things like this tough seeing that it happened so quick after the building started. Why they would take just 2 1/2 inchs when they know that this area could get up to 7 or 8 inch's of rain very fast. That is the history of the area so why didn't they use it? Seems they would want to protect rivers and not let developers kill them. Told them it may change people minds from coming to Arkansas for vacation as this was already all over ther internet. I also told them that it may keep people from moving to the area if they kill all of there streams by having very poor building regulation's. Told them that it was all most as much the falt of the local government as it was the contractor's. Seeing as how they are the one's that set the rules and regulation's. Figure it can't hurt to pile it on. But it is all the truth. Ron

I fish this river on almost a daily basis, and here are my thoughts. I was at Quarry Park Saturday morning watching red mud slide into the Fork from Overlooked Mistakes....there were several fishermen standing around cursing as the water changed color. At Norfork Cabins, there was a large gravel bar; it is now a large mud flat. As far as cleaning this crap up, I don't know what can be done. You can hardly kick it loose with your boots. There are suckers by the thousands in the Quarry Park area. I've been fishing this area for years, and have never seen suckers this far up the river. It's too cold for them. The only reason I can see for their presence is hunger. It's not spawning season, as has been suggested by others. The presence of insects is cut by half below the run-off point for Overlooked Mistakes. This will undoubtedly continue down the river for years, maybe forever. Who knows? I think Mr. Doyal should be stripped of all assets and they should be used to pay for cleanup.
