Daveinozark Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Be careful on the southside of the bridge. I wanna say county was out there busting people for parking over there. I can probably tell you a for sure answer by this evening. MoDOT came in the fire station (Sparta) the other day and said they were expecting it to be open the first week of October. I hope they open it soon. Any odds of getting a few guys together and going up there maybe this coming week to do some fishing? guess I better hold off then until the bridge is done. So there's still no accessing the lake from the Canyon road?
Members Boat Newb Posted September 30, 2011 Members Posted September 30, 2011 The bridge is open and everything is back to normal now.
Daveinozark Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 The bridge is open and everything is back to normal now. Yes! I saw that on the MODOT site and called just to be sure. I'll hit it early mornings this weekend and see how well it fishes now. It may be hard to catch them with blue skies. Probably have to slow it down with plastics, which I hate. oh well, at least it's open again

I hope it goes well. Keep me posted on the fishing. I bought my license yesterday and I'm gonna try to finish out the year with some fishing.
Daveinozark Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Yep. Drove across it last night and this morning. I haven't been under the bridge yet. I hope it goes well. Keep me posted on the fishing. I bought my license yesterday and I'm gonna try to finish out the year with some fishing. got there early this morning and there was a guy on on bobcat hauling things under the bridge. I asked him about parking and he said not to park under the bridge since they were still cleaning up. I parked in the next clearing down river. He stated that there was no trespassing allowed, but I had been there before and brushed it off. However, now there are new signs posted along both sides of where the water fall is. They are signs for no trespassing, so I quickly got the boat into the lake before anyone saw me. The fishing was o.k., but they were spooked and I had to practically hit them on the head with a plastic in order to get bites. No other lures were working. I think it's due to this cold front though, because the water itself wasn't that cold. I'll be curious to see if KY3 or other local news sources post an article about no longer accessing Linden lake. They may be planning on closing it off to the public completely

I don't think they can legally close off the lake to the public.

What we need is a pool ladder to sit in the middle of that over-flow

Members Boat Newb Posted October 9, 2011 Members Posted October 9, 2011 I didn't get to go fishing. I did notice this morning on my way to work that the big rocks to the east of the bridge towards the lake have purple painted on them now. I wonder how thats going to work.
Daveinozark Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 I guess the purple paint on the large boulders means no trespassing. Found this article: http://farmtalknewspaper.com/areafarmnews/x1418601715/Purple-paint-means-Keep-Out-in-Mo So there's no access, even river access to Linden lake if you can't go past the purple boulders. That doesn't seem legal, I thought a navigatable river was public property!
