Members kayaker Posted August 16, 2011 Members Posted August 16, 2011 My buddy and I stayed at Hog Heaven last weekend. Had a great all day float with Cal and Red during the day. Caught lots of fish and had a great shore lunch. Decided to do some night fishing and caught some big ones.
Buzz Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Nice.... What were the baits that you caught them on? If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
stinger160 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Wouldn't you know, the one trip I had to cancel from and you get into the big ones. Oh well, next time maybe.
Members redfish Posted August 18, 2011 Members Posted August 18, 2011 Nice fish!! I'm glad you guys came down, I had a great time. The shore lunch was good once we got a lighter. If you can't come down before, try for the New's Years Day float. Dress warm. Had fun, see you soon.
ollie Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Nice fish. The night time topwater is really in full swing right now. If you get a chance, take it!! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members kayaker Posted August 19, 2011 Author Members Posted August 19, 2011 Caught all fish on tubes during the day and a few on my flyrod. I caught my two big largemouth at night on a shallow running crankbait, turned the reel very slow and kept it right on top just making a wake since I did not have any topwater stuff. My buddy caught his big smallie on a spinner bait.
