I've been told by a freind that some guides in Alaska haven't had alot of good to say about TFO rods. They claim that they break faster than alot of other rods.I know several of you on this site use TFO and was wondering if anyone has had breakage problems with the 4-8wt class rods? My opinion is that the guides were representatives of higher end rods so naturally they might not speak so kindly of other rod companies.I would like to have a TFO but was doing a little research first.Fire away people!

I own both a low end 4wt and a mid range 2wt in the TFO brand. Never had a problem with either, and even caught some pretty hefty 'bows and browns. I consider them as good as my Sage, just not as pretty

I've logged alot of hours and caught alot of fish on my TFO purchased May 2005. The best rod for their price range.

I've got the 9' 5wt TiCrx, nice rod, and one of the fastest rods I have ever casted (which I like :D )

Haven't had any issues with breaking and like Steve said

TFO rods also have a no questions asked $25 replacement warranty
....'nuff said.

I'm glad to hear their customer service was great. I had the unfortunate luck of finding my broken TFO 9', 4wt, Professional in the back of my truck at Bennett this past weekend. I have no idea how it broke however it was at the 2nd section, right at a ferrell.

I bought it at Cabela's, I'm going to see if they will exchange it for a new one. If not I guess I will spend the $25.00 and send it back.

TFO rods are great. I have three Pro rods and I just bought a couple of their new Axiom rods. My new Axiom rods (9' 5wt and 9' 8wt) needed to be stepped up one line weight than what the rods call for.

If people will send in their warranty cards to TFO they will not have a problem.

I have been looking at a TICRx. I like the idea of the warranty and I have heard that it is a great rod if you want to go with something fast. It would be a 5 wt for me so that I can shoot those soft hackles to long distance targets at Taney.

I own (2) Pro rods and they're OK. I've never broke a TFO rod. Have broke plenty of others. I wonder what the "guides" would recommend as being any better for the money?

Cheers. PC
