Nortrad Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I was using a simple streamer pattern that I tie. Just big and ugly for the most part. I think the key to streamer fishing the Current is to match the speed and color that they are interested in. You will see more follows than bites, just try to figure out a speed/color that will make them commit. Focus on undercut banks and deep rootwads and try to fish the spots that most people overlook. I forgot to mention some other cool things from this trip. When I hooked a fish, several times there would be 2-3 other fish chasing the hooked fish around. The largest brown that I caught had a fish of equal size following it. The last brown pictured had a rainbow trout eat the lead fly after it was hooked, and for a short while I had two 18+ inch trout on the same line! Thanks for the info. I remember seeing a past post by you about your streamers. It's worth it to keep trying the streamers with these kind of fish.
ozark trout fisher Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Nice browns. Big fish like that aren't easy to come by this time of year either.
