Gatorjet Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Been wanting a center fire SSA replica for a while. I thought I might get A Ruger Vaquero, but for a couple hundred less I found this Cimarron in 45 LC, by A. Uberti at Cabela's yesterday. It is the lower grad model with matte black cylinder and barrel, but unlike the Uberti Hombre it has a case color frame. the one in the display case had a bit more shine to the brass trigger guard, but I think the more tarnished look of this one blends in better with the case color frame. The grips are also a nice subdued flat finished walnut look. To me it looks very close to something a cowboy of the 1800,s might have carried around on his side. With the sale price, an additional 10% off card, gift card, and some points on my rewards card, it was under $300 out the door! Can't wait for a range session to see how it shoots !!! Real men go propless!
jdmidwest Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I was in Cabela's Sat and it was so packed that you could not get to the gun counter without an hour wait. I was looking for some binoc's and that counter had 5 people standing around waiting for some help. The fine gun room was empty and I made a cruise thru that, found an nice H&K 45 semi auto carbine that I had not seen before. I was wishing I had an extra 1400 on hand to take it home. You should be happy with the Uberti, we sell a bunch of them at the shop. One of Benelli's/Beretta companies so they turn out fine stuff. I have a Ruger Blackhawk convertible 9mm/357, that is as cowboy as I get with a handgun. I use it as a sidearm during firearms season. Gatorjet Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 They were as crowded Sunday. When I got there they were waiting on #45, and my number was 68. Probably 45 min to an hour to get waited on. I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk that I some times carry while deer hunting, but to me an adjustable sighted, 44 Magnum still isn't a "cowboy" gun even if it is a single action! I bought a Heritage Rough Rider 22/22Mag a while back just to kinda go with my Henry Golden Boy 22 Mag. In my vicious circle of gun buying life, now I'll have to get a Big Boy in 45 L.C. to go with the Cimarron!!! Real men go propless!
