Micheal Kyle Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Put the boat in latter than I wanted but had great conversation prior to the trip great to talk with everyone. Got the boat in the water at 3:30am drifted down to cooper creek. Lots of people on the water after the sun came out. I was very set in the way that I was going to fish, Mouse at night and Hopper after the sun came up nothing more nothing less. So as the trip began Matt was fishing the black matuka and I was slamming the banks with my mouse. Matt was catching a lot from KOA down to Andy's house I still had 0, when we got down to the bluff it was on with the mouse. Had several takers but only got 6 to the boat, Nothing big but I know I had one nice fish on and he came unbuckled at the boat hard to say but I would estimate him to be around 25-28 inches. Did see the oil slick hope they get that fixed When I fish the mouse I slam it on the bank make a huge splash then start stripping it as fast as I can then pause and then do the stripping again usally the fish will slam it on the first pause. You have to make it look as if the mouse just fell in and is swimming for it's life. After the sun came up I let Matt have the front of the boat with the hopper he caught sevral 15-18 inch fish on the hopper again making the hopper have a splash landing if they dont hit it with in 3-5 seconds re-cast. Here is a pic of the mouse it is called a Lemming Mouse by Mike Mercer Good luck see you tonight To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
laker67 Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Hey, it was good to talk with you guys friday night. Glad to hear you caught some fish on the mouse. What happened to Marcus? You didn't mention him in the fishing report. Did he fall out of the boat or something?
