mic Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I spent Labor Day weekend in the Sand Springs Resort RV section right outside Bennett across the river. I would give it rate it six out of ten for RVs (less if I was tent camping). This site has so much potential, but (it appears) the sites focus is on the hotel side of things. Positives: 1. Location, Location, Location. The site has direct access to the river just down from inflow of Bennett Springs. The site had a nice riffle, run, and pulled in which we caught quite a few fish. 2. The owners were nice. Negative: 1. RV campers with access to the rest room, shower, and the gray tank to hold over are alright as the site doesn't have a shower house. The site uses port-a-potties for bathroom access. I found out later the "shower room" was in the pool area. I checked it out, and it sucked considering it was inside the hotel section of the resort. Basically, add a nice shower building and this site goes way up to a eight or nine. 2. Some sites had fire rings and some didn't. This was most evident at the dump station where some tent campers started a fire right on top it. The downspout looks like a simple covered vent hole. 3. It was pretty nosy in the mornings as the canoe trailers were coming and going. All in all, stay at the park if you can unless you're completely self sufficient in an RV.
