Members TArcher Posted September 6, 2011 Members Posted September 6, 2011 I'm going to start tying some sculpin patterns and know there are alot of different variations and ways to tie a sculpin. I was curious what others were tying/using and what everyone thought of my sculpin pattern. Would a trout eat this, lol. This sculpin pattern is olive. What other color sculpin patterns would be good to tie. Thanks "There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. troutbum479 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Trout and Smallmouth both would eat it. Looks like a winner to me. Nice job. arkmoflyfishing.blogspot.com http://okietroutbum.blogspot.com/
loo10 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 No. No trout would eat it. And no self-respecting angler would fish it. Dylan Cluver Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I love the detail of your sculpin! No one gripes about obese fish.
Members TArcher Posted October 6, 2011 Author Members Posted October 6, 2011 I love the detail of your sculpin! Thanks. I used this pattern night fishing Taneycomo a few weeks ago and caught quite a few rainbows with it. I need to get more tied up before my 6 day trip down over there next weekend "There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Personal I don't think it needs the side fins. tight lines

Members TArcher Posted October 7, 2011 Author Members Posted October 7, 2011 Since when are weekends 6 days??? Well I have a hectic rotating schedule of day & nights and every 3-4 weeks I get a time that if I take 16 hours of vacation time I end up having 6 days off in a row Thursday-Tuesday. So for me its basically a 6 day weekend, lol. "There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse.
