Members french Posted September 29, 2011 Members Posted September 29, 2011 This may fit better some where else, but your guys are the best?? So here goes, I have a Humminbird 997 SI with the DI added last year and it is at the dash with transducer at the back. And I love it but, how does the down imaging work with spooning/dropshoting or does it work??? I can follow the spoon and even see the whole setup when I'm dropshotting with my smaller front unit (HB 788 not DI). But that very dim light blub in my head finally went off the other day about using maybe a DI unit for this??? Can you see the spoon/dropshot and what do the fish look like coming up. I'm fairly confident with technique but don't use it as much as you guys do. I don't get to fish table rock as much as need to. Thanks in advance for all your replies.

Bill Babler Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Snake is right. You can clearly see the trees, branches and the fish. But the line going to the spoon or the dropshot is not how the DI works. You can however put in on i have the graph on one side and the DI and the GPS on the other screen. On my HD8. Kind of cool watching it all. Most times just the Map and the finder. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members french Posted September 30, 2011 Author Members Posted September 30, 2011 Thanks Bill I have always used the regular 2D mode and had some sucess. I don't have a big graph up front and was thinking it would be cool with the DI but I understand yalls statements. I would like the map and the graph both togather I do that at the console for marking. Are yall still catching some that way!!

With the high off color water, (10 to 15 foot of visability) our fish just did not move out deep in the numbers we are acustomed to. There are a few out there, but for the most part it has relegated us to casting instead of dropping. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
