Quillback Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 My new 4 month old GSP - Rowdy - been out of bird hunting for a few years, but time to get back into it. Breeder thinks he'll be ready to hunt by November, hopefully so. Going out to WA state for a couple of weeks in November for chukar, quail, and maybe a few pheasants. May do some hunting in Nebraska in December, or maybe Kansas, but I've heard KS bird numbers are down due to the heat and drought.
Quillback Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Diggin out the maps, checking out public land in Nebraska, appears to be quite a bit of it. Probably gets hunted hard however.
Bird Watcher Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 that's a good looking pup QB. I love those GSPs
Quillback Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Made it out to WA state for some bird hunting with old friends, we did OK on Chukars, quail and a few pheasants. Dog is still a little young, but got him out a couple of times to sniff for birds. Also did a couple of days in Nebraska on the way back, hunting public land, didn't see any roosters, but the dog got to track some hens. Pics of the dog in Chukar territory above the Columbia river.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I never hunted chukars, but I've seen many and fished a lot of the canyons they inhabit, it's not for the out of shape. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
