mic Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I just spent a four day weekend at this sweet little get away. The campground is well laid out with room between full concrete pads. The park has electric, electric/water, and no connection sites. The facilities are somewhat new, in really good shape, well kept, and have warm showers. My family hiked the Deer Run Trail (2.75 miles), and it was pretty sweet with a well maintained trail and great views. The park store is lacking, but Ozark Outdoors is right across the river for supplies. The cave itself is first rate and one of my favorites so far. The wade fishing at the site isn't the greatest.
Members Fredrick Posted November 9, 2011 Members Posted November 9, 2011 I went their when I was at st louis community college to float for class credit it was great. We were bussed up the stream to float back down had a blast didn't get to fish but it was loads of fun! I have some stories of rule breaking that we did during the float we won't talk about that here but my professor was great he taught us a whole lot about steam navigation. He was a great guy if only I could remember his name. That was one of the most fun things I have ever done!We did the cave tour and being 6'4 it wasn't bad at all. It's not to far from st louis I highly recommend it! jagermeister anyone?
