Bob A Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Folks, been fishing Bennett and Taney for many years, but always drove back n' forth from Springfield. Thinking of spending a few days at Bennett and like the location of Sand Springs Resort. Just looking for any feedback that mightbe helpful, as the prices seem okay. Overall cleanliness, room quality, etc. Not expecting a Hilton, just somewhere clean and comfortable. Or, any other suggestions? Thanks for any input. Bob A, Springfield
FishinCricket Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Assuming you speak the truth (Don't want the "Hilton", just decent clean rooms, good customer service, etc) you should enjoy the Sand Springs Resort.. It's definitely nice to have the restaurant right there, good food too! cricket.c21.com
mic Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Agree, if you don't want the Hilton, it will work. I camped there and the shower rooms and public bathrooms are lacking. I didn't stay in a room.
Jack Jones Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I'd check out Larry's Cedar Resort at http://bennettspring.com/. You can't get much closer unless you are actually in the park. They are pretty well maintained and their shop is pretty good too. Or if you really want no frills, the Day's Inn or Traveler's Inn is pretty cheap, LOL. mic Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Larry's Cedar Resort at http://bennettspring.com/. My parents stayed there and really liked it.
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Sand Springs is fine and you have a restaurant right across the lot. Vogels is very reasonable, or was, and of course there are Jim Rodgers places on up the hill. Nothing wrong with Larry's, but they can be hard to get. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Thom Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Stayed at Sand Springs last week and arrived at 5 PM to a sign in the window "out to pick up canoes" fished a while and returned to find the only one at the check in was someone cooking pizza so after waiting for the reasturant business to get done so I could get checked in I found the room with two light bulbs out and everytine else unpluged except the light bulb in the bathroom.. Finally after getting the lights on I unpacked in the dark because the outside light was burned out also and it was now dark outside. Resturant closed during the week. the maid told me that nothing was open except in Lebanon. Wrong the lodge was open and had a great meal there. Larrys cedar resort would be my recommendation. Wasn't going to post my bad experience but since you asked. Thom Harvengt
