Al Agnew Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I was on the Current on Saturday, caught a bunch of rainbows on small blue winged olives, and a few trout on nymphs. My buddy caught a 21 inch brown on a nymph. The big browns are on the redds right now, and very vulnerable to snagging in the low water. We saw a young guy walking off the river with what had to be an 8 pound brown, huge male, that he'd caught with ultralight spinning tackle...and I'd be willing to bet he snagged it off a redd. Really hurt to see it draped in his net and drying out and watch him flop it into the back of his pickup truck.
Idylwilde Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Al you can see that happen almost every day inside the park right now with all the browns moving up. They don't have to be that big inside the park and they can keep 4. We have lost a bunch this summer. I have ask the MDC why they will not protect the Browns from the Blue Ribbon area, and they say they see no problem. GO FIGURE!Back when all the 100+ day's and the water temp started to rise we lost about 40 to the lunker boards. HATE IT!!!! Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
