Members fishbobber Posted January 4, 2012 Members Posted January 4, 2012 Seems like the fire has already gone out! I am not even seeing any smoke......do you think the fishing is so good no one wants to give up the secret?
FishinCricket Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Seems like the fire has already gone out! I am not even seeing any smoke......do you think the fishing is so good no one wants to give up the secret? There are, in fact, a limited number of ways of finding that out... cricket.c21.com
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 4, 2012 Root Admin Posted January 4, 2012 My guess is that very few people fish down there and of those, very few are on this forum. Or it could be that good. Look at Upper Bull Shoals... I've heard crappie are jumping in the boat down there right now and you don't see many reporting it. I'm going tomorrow and I will report back.

I am going fishing Saturday and was trying to decide between Pomme de terre or heading down to forsyteh and hitting up the beaver creek area.
Jack Jones Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Fred...I sent you an email. Even if we can't fire up this forum, I'd welcome the correspondence. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Phil's right that there aren't many boats on the lower end. Empire gets some attention from the bank, but it's never crowded. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 5, 2012 Root Admin Posted January 5, 2012 I was going to put in at K Dock and fish both up and down but mainly up cause I know the lake better. Go about 3/4 mile up and fish the bluff on the right to the flat. Then follow the flat / edge of channel to where it turns into snap. Then go up to the next bluff on the right and fish it. Throw at every piece of wood you see. Not sure how deep they'll be- depends on time of day (deeper in bright sun). Slow dropping jigs - red heads are best. That's what I've heard. Should be able to limit by 11 am.
