Members big country Posted October 24, 2011 Members Posted October 24, 2011 Coming down to the lake tommorrow. Probably gonna put in at PB2. Haven't done much fall crappie fishing. Should I just try to find the shad this time of year or should I key on flats or coves etc..? Any general info would be appreciated. I'm bringing my wife with me and she hasn't had an opportunity to come with me for several years since the birth of our children, but doesn't complain when I go any time I get the chance (she's very understanding when it comes to my fishing addiction... fished 3 days on the honeymoon). I'm really hoping to put her on some great fishing and make sure she has a great day. Hopefully in a few years my kids will take an interest and I can bring them too. May do a little drift fishing for cats as well. We're going on tuesday and I have a 20 ft. camo xpress and a green ford truck. Stop and say hi if you see us.
Guest csfishinfool Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 My dad was up there this past week, limited out four days in a row. The first day it only took about an hour for two of them to get thirty. The rest of the week was a bit slower. They caught there fish off of commercial docks. They were in the Gravios Arm though. It could be the same up that way, but im not certain.

Members big country Posted December 14, 2011 Author Members Posted December 14, 2011 - Hey big country, how'd you guys do? [/quote Sorry I didn't answer in a timely fashion. Got put on 84 hour weeks at work right after the trip and that didn't leave time for much of anything else. We caught about 20 keepers before the wind tried blowing us off the lake. My boat is a pretty bad sail in high winds. After the wind kicked up we did a little riding around and sightseeing. Just before we left we tried fishing a little more. The wind made it pretty tough, but I did get one that was almost 2 lbs. All in all it was a nice trip with the wife. I am however looking forward to a trip with the guys so I can get a little more serious about the fishing. May try to go in January but have never done any winter crappie fishing, so I may wait for spring and spend my winter trips chasing trout at taney.
