I have fished ultra light fishing gear for a while now I bought all sorts of reels in pursuit of a better reeling, casting and better drag on a spinning reel. Disappointed with lack luster performance last may my birthday came around and my wife asked me what do u want I said get me that pflueger reel. It was 29 bucks at walmart feeling kinda like a cheap date I didn't expect that much . Whoa was I surprised its great casting and drag . The sure click bail was great as well. I thought to my self well lets see how it holds up. After dunking 3-4 times in the 100+ degree weather it felt like a pencil sharpener I thought oh great Its done for .I took it apart only to discover nice internal parts but the grease had run out re greased it and bam good as new. The clutch system allows for more hooks sets. I let people try it its so smooth then I tell them its $30 they are blown away. When I was a kid I cut lots of grass to save up buy a used stratus reel this is way better and less then 1/2 the price. Next time your at bass pro turn the handle on the demo you'll be surprised for $30 bucks what you can get.I know there are probably much better reels for much more money but for $30 bucks this is the best in my book.

On a side note I had a med action trion combo stolen from me when I visited rockaway beach I used it once it was nice as well not sure who stole it. I think it might of been my father in law if hes reading this and he took it then hes a pos!

jagermeister anyone?

After 10+ years of trying different reels, I now exclusively use Pflueger spinning reels. Most of mine are the President series, but I do use two Trion's for smallie fishing. In my opinion, Pflueger makes by far the best reels for the money.

Those Trions have been soaked several times as one might expect would happen float and wade fishing. Haven't had an issue yet.

Found one mounted on a rod at a flea market a while back. it showed signs of use but 8 dollars for the combo i figured it would work great for behind the seat pole for those quick stops. I two was impressed. I am no fan of the bail reels but it does work nicely.
