straw hat Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Fished a bluff about 2 miles from Ruark today. Water temp was 49. Crappie were 18' deep and very picky. Did manage to come up with my 15 keepers and 3 kittys. The cats were caught fishing 24 feet deep. They were decent size... 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 5 1/2.

nxs Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 straw hat that's a good day anytime but with the wind yesterday it's extra good. Has the water cleared up? Our last couple of trips have not been good but we did catch a couple of short walleye last time out.

With the water temps dropping like they are you would think the water would be really clear. The spot I fished yesterday was out of the wind (thank God) and I think that helped me. I have seen several walleye caught the last 2 weeks off of humps near the main channel. Most of the keepers I saw were 15 to 19", no huge but they will eat.
nxs Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Walleye have been scarce for us since it got hot back in the early summer. At that time we were catching maybe 10 a day with alot of shorts. I'm not much into trolling so we just fish for crappie but usually catch some along with them, but not this year. Anything legal would look good. You catch those cat on your crappie rod?? if so that ought to have been a hoot!!
straw hat Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 No, I usually put a couple of other rods out near me when I am crappie fishing. Even so they were still a hoot!!!
fishinSWMO Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 That's a good mess of fish! Jeremy Dodson
