sfiser Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 my girlfriend and live in Arkansas and travel to Roaring River to fish often. We both have nonresident licenses and trout permits. If we wanted to take her nephews up there (both 3 and 5 years old) to fish for an hour or 2 over the weekend, would they need a license or a trout permit?? I know in Arkansas you dont need anything till you are 16, just not sure if missouri works the same way.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Non-resident children 15 and under do not need a fishing license. As far as I know however there is no exemption for the trout tag or stamp. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
moguy1973 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Everyone needs a daily park trout tag, even youth...If you fish outside the park though, only youth 6-15 need the $3.50 stamp... http://mdc.mo.gov/fishing -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
chub minnow Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Unless something has changed, you don't need a daily tag to fish during C&R. You would need trout stamp to keep fish outside the park, otherwise you should be fine with your license and trout stamp. Kids don't need anything at RR (during C&R only).
Members Lucky Fly Posted November 18, 2011 Members Posted November 18, 2011 I took my son fishing the C&R season all the time and was under the impression he needed the $3.50 trout stamp to fish C&R in the park. We have been checked a few times. I would spend the $7.00 and get the tags. tight lines "Trout Don't Live In Ugly Places"
Steve Smith Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Everyone regardless of age has to have a Missouri trout tag to fish during the C&R season at RRSP. Chances are the youngster won't get checked, but better to be safe than sorry. I'd just stop at Wally World and pick one up ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
