Members smallielover Posted September 1, 2006 Members Posted September 1, 2006 Hello from Iowa everyone! I'm a little new to this site and it seems like there is a lot of great anglers of all types and abilities present. I love fishing for smallmouth both with a fly rod or a spinning rod. I live in Des Moines, Iowa and work as a Therapist for a local hospital. My wife and I just recieved a gift of a time share at the Big Cedar Lodge and have already used it this past spring. I fell in love with Table Rock instantly! The only problem is that I am used to fishing mud banks and tree stumps in 2 feet of water here in Iowa. I was not used to fishing tree tops in 40 foot of water, 10 foot off the shore. I love drop-shoting and managed to get 1 smallie and one spot this spring. Once home I vowed to return and put a GPS unit on my boat so I could venture a little further away from the lodge! Anyway good to meet everyone and hopefully I'll catch more fish next weekend when I head down for round two!

Terry Beeson Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 it seems like there is a lot of great anglers of all types and abilities present. And then there are the rest of us... A time-share at Cedar Lodge as a gift? Sure beats the tie I got for Father's Day... Welcome to the forum, Smallie... jay bird Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 All my wife's family is from Iowa and they sure enjoy coming down here in the Spring/early Summer for some time on the lake, and I enjoy going up there for some Pheasant hunting in the Fall. I am also a Therapist at a small local hospital (OT) and love to fish both the lakes, streams and tail-waters of the Ozarks. Next time you come down do not forget to try the night bite at either table rock for bass or Taney for trout. This is a good way to keep the wife/family happy and still get in some great fishing.
