Hello from Iowa everyone! I'm a little new to this site and it seems like there is a lot of great anglers of all types and abilities present. I love fishing for smallmouth both with a fly rod or a spinning rod. I live in Des Moines, Iowa and work as a Therapist for a local hospital. My wife and I just recieved a gift of a time share at the Big Cedar Lodge and have already used it this past spring. I fell in love with Table Rock instantly! The only problem is that I am used to fishing mud banks and tree stumps in 2 feet of water here in Iowa. I was not used to fishing tree tops in 40 foot of water, 10 foot off the shore. I love drop-shoting and managed to get 1 smallie and one spot this spring. Once home I vowed to return and put a GPS unit on my boat so I could venture a little further away from the lodge! Anyway good to meet everyone and hopefully I'll catch more fish next weekend when I head down for round two!

And then there are the rest of us...

A time-share at Cedar Lodge as a gift? Sure beats the tie I got for Father's Day...

Welcome to the forum, Smallie...

All my wife's family is from Iowa and they sure enjoy coming down here in the Spring/early Summer for some time on the lake, and I enjoy going up there for some Pheasant hunting in the Fall. I am also a Therapist at a small local hospital (OT) and love to fish both the lakes, streams and tail-waters of the Ozarks. Next time you come down do not forget to try the night bite at either table rock for bass or Taney for trout. This is a good way to keep the wife/family happy and still get in some great fishing.
