straw hat Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Put in at CC. Water was much dingier and milky. Went a couple miles north until the water cleared up. Worked it hard and only came out with 10 keepers and a 4 lb channel. Fish were hanging around 18 to 20'. Never caught more than 2 at any one stop. Tough fishing. When we went back to take the boat out we counted 13 boats under and around the bridge. What a zoo. Most of the people we talked to said the fishing had been slow. Water temp varied from 42 to 45. Where is everyone elses fishing reports? Are you all chasing antlered goats? I know that surely some of you have been catching fish. Does anyone know what the water temp is up around hawker point? I would appreciate any info. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE

Am taking my son out Friday to try and get a few walleye. What were you using for the bass and eyes? We usually do well with SR5s but have been trying numerous other techniques/lures with little success... I haven't had a walleye on stockton in over a year and know fall is a prime time to get them going. Any advice/locations will be appreciated.
nxs Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Glad you caught some we got skunked. Water was nasty looking up around Ruark. Moved alot and most places we went someone was already there. Shoulder was gving me fits and we left about 3:30 We fished brush piles, drop offs, trees and about anything else we could think of. Thinking about heading south for a trip or two around Beaver Creek, maybe a change of water will help
inshore Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 on monday when i caught the bass and walleyes you would not beleive what i was using. was going to crappie fish but couldn't locate any good schools on 245 bridge. decided to flip steep banks for them. had two rods rigged with sliders black and chart and white and chart shortened by cutting off two rings on 3/16 and 1/4 oz darter heads short shank hooks. started flipping steep banks and no crappie but the bass were eating them up. caught all fish on the bluffs and steep banks. tried shallower banks couldn't buy a fish. flip to edge of bank let it drop and slowly and i mean slowly (think crappie) reel it back. caught the eyes same lures but on shallow side of points in 8 to 12 feet reeling slowly on bottom.
straw hat Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 Inshore is right on. We have been fishing steep banks to catch our crappie but have been having trouble keeping the bass of our hooks! The bass bite has been so light, they just slowly take our slip bobbers under and hold it. They don't even run with it. Good luck. PS - We went again today and caught 23 more crappie. I think that tomorrow will be a rest day after fishing two in a row. lol
Members James Prisk Posted November 25, 2011 Members Posted November 25, 2011 Thanks for all the advice. Will post tomorrow night on how we do.
